portrait commissions

Wed Jun 17, 2009, 1:31 PM
Hey everyone. I have decided, after a few requests, to start doing commisioned portraits. If you are interested, I can do your portrait with the bold colors of my prismacolor markers, or stick to a more traditional feel with colored pencils.

How it works:
You would send me a portrait of yourself, your loved ones, etc. I 'trace' a basic outline of your features, then transfer that to fresh canvas (so to speak) and then go to town! I can keep your portrait basic, or create a background and 'frame'. You can either tell me elements (lyrics, poetry, colors, favorite symbols, etc) you would like included in the picture, or I can just put in what your portrait leads me to do. The end result will not be an exact likeness, but a sort of charicature or personification.

I'm thinking it will probably be at least a 2 week turnaround. Once I finish the lineart, I will send you a scanned copy for you to approve. If you want any changes made, you will let me know at this step. Then I will add color! Once the color is done, the finished product will be sent to you as a full resolution jpeg, which you can then print out on your own, or take to a quality printing store (kinkos, etc) to have printed professionally.

Pricing:
I don't want a piece of art to break your bank, so here's a couple different options for you!

Single subject portraits*
Simple black and white lineart: $15
Colored w/no background: $15 for colored pencils, $20 for prismacolors
Colored w/ background: $20 for colored pencils, $25 for prismacolors

*If you want additional people in your portrait, i'll add $2 for each one, but only if its done with prismacolors. The markers aren't cheap, and that's a lot of skin!

i think you mentioned it on my other account. Something about that drawing being the only non-girly man you've drawn.
although I thought your rendition of Sawyer in that Sawyer/Kate fanart looked pretty manly. :)
:iconwaterfallfaerie:
